April 25th to April 30th is National Volunteer Week!

All of us at the Clarington East Food Bank (CEFB) would like to thank the incredible volunteers dedicating their time and energy to work with us!

The theme for the National Volunteer week is Volunteering is Empathy in Action. Empathy is a quality that can help people relate to and connect with others. Empathy helps to build awareness around different experiences. Empathy requires connection, reflection, and heart and our community of volunteers demonstrate these qualities through their work each day.

Our volunteers at CEFB are essential to the emergency food services and support we offer our community. Throughout the past year, our volunteers have assisted us at food drives, helped us sort food and  assisted us in serving our neighbours.

Our programs are also supported by a strong volunteer Board of Directors. Our Board is committed to ensure that we provide the best quality of service to our community. They value the support our community shows through donations and food drives and work behind the scenes to ensure that the staff and volunteers have the resources to deliver support to people experiencing food insecurity.

The entire team at CEFB is thankful for our volunteers’ support and we celebrate their contributions which have a positive impact on our success.

A very sincere thank you to our volunteers.
